Snowflake Affirmations: Musical Craft for Kids

Craft Instructions:
Encourage children to express their individuality by providing a snowflake template for colouring and decorating. After they add their personal touches, they can then complete the affirmation chant in the middle.
Fill-in-the-Blank Affirmation Chant:
"I am _____
And special as can be
I am _____ and ______
There’s only one
Amazing me"
Encourage each child to think of words that describe them and help them fill in the blanks, making the chant uniquely theirs. This personal touch adds a musical and self-affirming element to the activity. The first fill-in-the-blank phrase could also be used to write the child's name ( I am Kate, and special as can be. I am helpful...)
Sharing the Melodies:
Once the snowflakes are complete, children can share their rhymes with others. Within my own groups with kindergarteners, we gathered in a circle and I went around and chanted each rhyme to the beat. It was wonderful to see the joy on children’s faces upon hearing their unique rhyme being sung.
Classroom Display:
